Meeting a Bae sister...

On Monday, September 24, I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Yee, one of our California Bae sisters. I met Yee on bb's blog (thanks bb) and kept in touch with Yee via emails. In August, Yee said she would be visiting Las Vegas to attend the Celine Dion show (which closes it's run at the end of the year) and asked if I would like to meet. OF COURSE I WOULD. So we confirmed plans and finally met. Because of my schedule, Yee agreed to meet me at 7:30am (thanks Yee for getting up early while here). She was staying at the Tropicana Hotel

So, after I arrived at the hotel, I called Yee to let her know I was waiting in the lobby/registration area for her. I also told her what I was wearing so she could identify me. She did the same. I was excited and anxious to finally meet her. Then, I see this lovely lady walk up the stairs and once we made eye contact, it was like meeting an old friend again. We hugged and introduced ourselves and just felt connected. It was smiles all around. We made our way to the coffee shop where we could enjoy breakfast. Sorry, we didn't take any pictures of our food. It wasn't anything exciting - typical breakfast - an omelet for Yee and corned beef hash w/eggs for me. We were so excited that we took a while to decide on what to eat. Then, we exchanged gifts. Yee brought me goodies from California's Knotts Berry Farm - shortbread cookies and preserves. Oh so YUMMY!

And then....she gave me this....

This was a surprise! A truly wonderful gift and one that will be cherished for many many years.

I shared with Yee some gifts from Hawaii...macadamia nut/caramel chocolates, macadamia nuts, Kona coffee and a Hawaiian Flower Calendar for 2008.

While we waited for our food, I shared with Yee some magazines that I brought with me. You should have seen her face as she looked at YJ's pictures. Her smile - as wide as the Grand Canyon - with each and every picture she looked at. We chatted about our dear MAN and talked about his work and what he has brought to our lives. It seems we both started with Winter Sonata not too long ago and have enjoyed everything since. We sat in the coffee shop for almost 2.5 hours chatting away like old time friends. We also talked about our children and how we both feel so blessed to have good kids. We strayed a bit to discuss other K-dramas, but always came back to discussing YJ.

It was about 10am so we left the coffee shop and found a place to sit for a bit before I had to leave. We continued our discussion and I had an opportunity to meet Yee's sister and friends. It was a very enjoyable morning finally meeting and making a new friend. I now understand what it means to meet a Bae sister, like many of you have done over the years on this Bae journey, and I look forward to meeting more and more of you in the future.

Yee - thank you again for your kindness and warm heart. Our meeting is only the beginning as we travel on this road....hopefully leading us to Baeland one day soon.
